Looking at other peoples diamonds posted online i see the same issues with the scoring/weights & lack of variety. Out of my 3 diamond blacktail 2 were almost identical with one being unique again with a wider main beam and a couple of odd angle tines. I guess with the whole “over 1 million possible variations” & “Ur unlikely to ever shoot the same rack twice” I assumed I would be able to have a wall full of diamonds that were all unique in some way.Īll the diamond Whitetail had 16 pionts (14 in the scoring as they must not count the tips of the main beams) 2 almost identical with the 3rd having a slightly twisted main beam.

Next is my concern with the lack of variety in the diamond racks, I notice that that they are the same rack with the same amount of points but slightly different main beam shapes and the odd twist in a tine. (As you can see #1 & #3 have the same Tru Score but #3 was heavier so scored the highest, #2 has the highest Tru Score but falls in between again because of weight)Ĭonsidering that these deer are scored based on the antlers not weight i felt this must not be correct. #3 Weight - 98.3kg Tru Score – 280.3 Total Score - 978 (As you can see #1 has the highest Tru Score but scored the lowest because it was lighter) The datails of my diamonds thus far are as follows. I have noticed that the Tru Score which is the same value as the Trophy Rating doesn’t have an impact on the Total Score of an animal, the Total Score seems to be linked to the weight of the animal. I have hunted hard in the last 2 days of TruRACS and have been lucky enough to shoot 3 Diamond Whitetails and 3 Diamond Blacktails and was surprised in the lack of variation in my small sample and noticed a few issues with the scoring Its great to see the variety in the average scoring animals but my concern so far is the lack of variation in the diamond scoring animals.

Firstly I don’t mean to be a downer on TruRACS, I understand it is still open to change but I just wanted to share my thoughts thus far.
